Title: The Liberty Amendments Pdf
"[Mark Levin] has done an incredible job of drafting these proposed amendments aimed at re-establishing the balance between the federal and state governments...let our national conversation begin, and let us thank Mark Levin for initiating it." (David Limbaugh, New York Times bestselling author of The Great Destroyer)"Mark Levin’s The Liberty Amendments is the revolutionary blueprint millions of Americans have been waiting for...carefully and powerfully written." (Jeffrey Lord, The American Spectator) “Mark Levin's book is a serious work that can serve as an action plan for curing what ails us.” (Cal Thomas, The Washington Examiner) Mark R. Levin, nationally syndicated talk-radio host, host of LevinTV, chairman of Landmark Legal Foundation, and the host of the FOX News show Life, Liberty, & Levin, is the author of six consecutive New York Times #1 bestsellers: Liberty and Tyranny, Plunder and Deceit, Rediscovering Americanism, Ameritopia, The Liberty Amendments, and Unfreedom of the Press. Liberty and Tyranny spent three months at #1 and sold more than 1.5 million copies. His books Men in Black and Rescuing Sprite were also New York Times bestsellers. Levin is an inductee of the National Radio Hall of Fame and was a top adviser to several members of President Ronald Reagan’s cabinet. He holds a BA from Temple University and a JD from Temple University Law School.
In his #1 bestsellers Liberty and Tyranny and Ameritopia, Mark R. Levin has all but predicted the current assault on our individual liberties, state sovereignty, and the social compact—the inevitable result of an all-powerful, ubiquitous central government. Fortunately, such dire circumstances were anticipated by the Founding Fathers, who gave us the means to amend the Constitution in order to preserve our rights and prevent governmental behemoths. Here, Levin turns to the Constitution and its Framers to lay forth eleven specific prescriptions, thoughtfully constructed within the Framers’ design, for restoring the American Republic. His proposals are pure common sense, ideas shared by many—such as term limits for members of Congress and Supreme Court justices and limits on federal taxing and spending—that draw on the wisdom of James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and others. With The Liberty Amendments, the American people can take the first step toward reclaiming what belongs to them.
Hyperbolic crap. I like to do my homework. I research as many ideas as I can before deciding my viewpoint on any subject. So, I bought Levin's book. I read the index page and thought, ok, there are some ideas here worth taking a look at. Then I started reading. Instead of supporting his ideas with facts and thoughtful pose there was nothing here but overly dramatic rhetoric. Rather than provide insight he decided to focus on incitement. I have no respect for someone who uses drama and rhetoric to make a living. I don't believe for one moment that he believes any of the crap he spews here.A must read!! I'm not a scholar or brilliant mind but love America and all she stands for.... well all she originally stood for... even having been originally organized by flawed man, our country was well planned but we've drifted... perhaps flowed... or maybe even have been swept away from her original intent, America is the greatest democratic republic man has know... this book is well written and thought out... don't agree totally with all Mark says but that's why we have discourse.... we've got to get back to the Constitution and stop despotic political behavior... mankind (all inclusive!!! Not just other people but myself included) are fallen creatures and MUST have boundaries or we crush those around us expecially those who differ... the Constitution set up basic limited government and when one side is championed for runing out of control then that side looses power to another "my way or the highway" type mentality (as has happened recently) it becomes all the more evident that limits must be in place and enforced... gee what a brilliant idea!!!!! Great ideas in these pages... not new just a great reminder to those of us who seem to have forgotten our country's roots...Conservative Diatribe My first red flag was in the author's first chapter, when he used significant space to rant against President Obama's use of executive orders to move forward things that his intransigent Congress was unwilling to tackle (take immigration reform, for example). With no mention of the fact that President Bush before him used far more EOs. I then took a look at his list of proposed Amendments to the Constitution. While there are ones I could support, like term limits for federal and Supreme Court justices, his takes on limiting taxes and reverting to state's rights started ringing familiar. So, I looked him up. First, he is president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, which is a conservative think tank which, according to SourceWatch, an "important part of its strategy is filing complaints with government agencies on various issues." Another important strategy is "defunding the Left", it supports school vouchers, and it went after Wisconsin judges who signed on to a recall petition against the State's governor, Scott Walker. And according to Wikipedia, the organization nominated Rush Limbaugh for the Nobel Prize. That ought to be enough to alert you to the extreme bias of this author. I am sorry I bought this book. Should have done my research beforehand.
